A researcher, maker and entrepreneur in heart and soul. From a young age I was fascinated by technology. How does something work? Why does it work like this? Can it be done better? These were questions that occupied me day and night.
My first ‘projects’ started early. As a small child I was given a drill and a wooden board with screws. I screwed them in, took them out and repeated this endlessly. Not much later I started experimenting with electrical sockets - that didn’t end well, but that too was technology.
I soon realised: everything around us is technology. Everything we use, everything we see, everything that is built - it has all been thought up and developed. I wanted to understand how that worked.
The road to precision technology
My curiosity brought me to different learning environments. I did an internship with a mechanic friend and then followed a training in metal technology, where I first came into contact with turning and milling. The precision, programming and control over complex machines fascinated me enormously.
That is why I chose a specialization as a Research Instrument Maker, where a world opened up for me. I learned to work with specialist machines, advanced techniques and programming complex processes. My analytical mindset and eye for detail came into their own here.
My teachers recognized in me a go-getter: always wanting to understand, always critical, always striving for perfection. That brought me to an academic research environment, where I further developed my knowledge and took on increasingly complex projects for scientific research.
From technical specialist to entrepreneur
After years of experience in the high-tech and precision industry, I noticed that something was missing. I was not only passionate about technology, but also about entrepreneurship and strategy. I wanted to do more than just solve technical problems.
I decided to study Business Administration alongside my work as a Research Instrument Maker. Everything fell into place here. The combination of technical depth and strategic insight gave me a completely new perspective. This allowed me to think bigger and really understand how companies grow, fail and reinvent themselves.
During my studies, I developed my research skills, and my interest in entrepreneurship grew enormously. I was given the tools to take matters into my own hands. But what perhaps fascinated me most was how everything came together: psychology, corporate law, commercial economics and the systems that keep our world running.
I started to look differently at the way companies operate, why people make certain choices and how processes are set up. I saw how companies were stuck in old ways of working, not because they didn’t know better, but because they didn’t know how to change.
The key? Implementing smart, scalable systems that not only improve processes, but also help companies grow.
From insight to action: Why I wanted to create change myself
As my knowledge grew, one thing became increasingly clear: the world is changing rapidly, but many companies are lagging behind. Technology, economy and society are developing at a rapid pace, but many organizations are clinging to old systems and inefficient processes. Not out of unwillingness, but because they do not know how to change.
I saw how technological progress, economic shifts and the way we work are interconnected. It became clear to me that business optimization is not just a luxury, but a necessity for survival and growth.
My insight? If I really want to make an impact in the technical world, I shouldn't wait for others to do it. I have to create the change myself.
My mission: Combining technology & strategy for real impact
That's why I started my own company: De Wolf Technical Consultancy & Precision Engineering. My goal is not only to help companies with technology, but to transform them strategically.
Companies that do not adapt will be overtaken by time. My mission is to not only make them future-proof, but to keep them ahead.
My approach: Research, analysis and direct action
You can think endlessly about how something should be different, but the reality is always different. Only when you take action, you get feedback, learn and can you really improve. That is why I work on the basis of:
Real change starts with action. That's why I work the way I do: With precision. With focus. With results.
